Media Appearance: KBOO's LGBTQIA2S+ Heritage Panel Interview

Just last night, in the midst of wedding season, I had the BEST time speaking on a panel of queer business owners at Portland’s independent community radio station, KBOO (90.7 FM)!

Myself, hairstylist Valentine of @valentinecuts, and queer historian @inqueery_pdx all got to sit down together and talk about the ways our identities interweave with our professions, challenges we face as queer business owners, and the queer joy we are so lucky to be able to witness on a day to day basis because of our work.

Have a listen below!

“I know that queer people have always committed to each other, and raised families, and done so with no legal recognition in the face of systemic abuse and harm, forever. I know that queer people have so much courage and joy and brightness in their love. It's always going to be here. And so what I hope to celebrate in my ceremonies are the qualities of courage that my couples take in going deeper with each other and their communities and their families, that are so not surface level.”

Speaking on the radio was so much fun and it got me even MORE excited about an upcoming podcast project I’ll be working on this winter. Stay tuned for more to come!

Until next time,

Anna
